The 4th of July celebrations in Boston is the largest in United States. On this national patriotic holiday, travel to Boston and experience the Independence Day celebrated in true patriotism. Boston’s Legendary 4th of July celebrations include:
- The Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular: Held in the Hatch Shell on the Esplanade near the banks of the Charles, the concert takes place on the 3rd and 4th of July and features top artists. Set to perform this year are artists such as Keith Lockhart, Rhiannon Giddens, Rita Moreno, Natalie Cortez and Rachel Platten being the headliner of the show. As part of the concert, a fighter jet military flyover is included.
- The Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture: Watch the finale to this celebration with real cannons fired and church bells ringing throughout the city; a perfect ending for a memorable Independence Day.
- Old State House Museum: If you plan to skip the fireworks show, hear the Declaration of Independence read out at the Old State House followed by the opening of the Museum doors for the public.
- Boston Harborfest 2018: This festival begins on the 28th of June in the Historic Downtown and most events are either free or inexpensively priced. The event is launched by Mayor Walsh followed by speeches, music by the 215th Army Band and the Official Boston Harborfest cake besides 100 other activities. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

- Benjamin Franklin Parkway: Party on the parkway with free food, fun, and entertainment. Take delight in some great American food from local food trucks and good beer at Beer Gardens.
- Wawa Welcome American Concert: Join this five-day-long event that kick starts on the 29th of June. This year the concert is set to feature artists such as Mary J. Blige and Boyzz II Men. Enjoy the evening with some upbeat music as these artists perform before you.
- Independence Day Parade: Line the streets to watch the Independence Day Parade and cheer on members of the armed forces. The parade begins at the 5th and Chestnut Streets and culminates at the Front and Chestnut Streets and is seen with dozens of brightly coloured floats and marching bands.
- Philadelphia History Museum: Learn about the city’s and America’s rich history with a visit to this museum. The museum charges a small fee of 10 dollars, but it’s free on the 4th of July.
Bristol, Rhode Island
Celebrations in Bristol, Rhode Island are one of America’s Oldest 4th of July celebrations and date back to 1785. Ironically it is the longest celebration in the United States of America commencing on the 14th of June, with The Flag Day and concluding with the 2.5-mile Military, Civic, and Firemen’s Parade on July 4. Watch out for these free outdoor concerts while in Bristol:
- The concert series at Independence Park, the Drum and Bugle Corps show, Fire-fighters’ muster, the Fourth of July Ball and Orange Crate Derby races.
- The Military, Civic and Firemen’s Parade ends the pompous celebrations in the Bristol and is viewed by over 200,000 people from Rhode Island and all around the world. These month-long celebrations in Bristol give it a nickname, “America’s most patriotic town”.
Coney Island, Brooklyn

Coney Island is a lovely peninsular residential neighbourhood in the South-Western part of Brooklyn in New York city. Every year, thousands of people flock to Coney Island to commemorate the birth of America and celebrate the day with fun and frolic. Here’s how you can spend your 4th of July at Coney Island.
